Finishing What We Started by 2023

On Sunday, October 6, we begin our annual 13-week Christmas Offering. This year’s offering is dedicated to raising the necessary funds to replace our deteriorated 20 space parking lot with a beautiful new – from the ground up – 54 space parking lot. A local engineering company is already designing the new parking lot. We want to complete the work by end of Summer next year. The estimated cost for the new parking lot is $25,000 - $35,000. Give securely online to the Christmas Offering.

We have already received $9,511.00 toward our Christmas Offering goal of $10,000.00. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to raise $25,000 by the end of this year for this project?

Making Our Building Our Own

The parking lot is just one of several major improvements to our property we want to finish by November 2023 – the Tenth Anniversary of Redeemer Church. There are plans for all new ADA accessible restrooms on the main floor, an expanded lobby, an ADA accessible entrance ramp, a remodeled worship space complete with up-to-date sound, lighting, video, and windows, a remodeled kitchen, and a redecorated Fellowship Hall: improvements intended to bring our 60-year-old building into the 21st century – and to make it our own. The cost for these improvements is estimated at $160,000.00.

Our property is debt free. We want to keep it that way.

That’s why we’re asking you to make an investment in Redeemer Church so that we can maintain our debt-free property with excellence as a testimony to our community and for the advancement of the gospel. Each member of Redeemer Church is asked to make a significant financial gift to these projects.

Give More By Donating Stock to Redeemer Church

Do you own stock that has appreciated for more than a year? By donating that stock to Redeemer Church you are actually giving 20 percent more to Redeemer Church than if you sold the stock and then made a cash donation. The reason is simple: avoiding capital gains taxes. The maximum federal capital gains tax rate is 20 percent on long-term holdings. Given that the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose from about 13,000 at the end of August 2012 to almost 22,000 at the end of August 2017, you are likely to realize a taxable profit on the sale of assets you purchased in the past five years. But if you donate the stock directly to a charity, there’s no capital gains tax to pay. Plus, you are still eligible to deduct the full fair-market value of the asset you donated from your income taxes, up to the overall amount allowed by the IRS.

To learn just how easy it is to donate appreciated stocks or mutual funds to Redeemer Church, we’ve created a dedicated page on our church website:

How to Gift Stock to Redeemer Church

And of course you can also designate your gifts in the more traditional ways: through the Sunday offering and ONLINE.

Between now and Christmas you will receive requests for donations from many worthy organizations. Please make your church the first priority in your year-end giving.

Thank you for your financial support of Redeemer Church, which makes possible our impact for Jesus Christ in Waterford and the World.
