Our Story

How it all started...

Redeemer Church of Waterford held its first service on November 3, 2013 at Pine Knob Elementary School in Clarkston, Michigan. After two years at that location, the church moved to a 175 seat auditorium at Sashabaw Middle School in Clarkston.

In July of 2017 we completed the purchase of an existing church building, which we now call home, at 2274 Crescent Lake Road in Waterford, Michigan. The property is beautifully situated across from the Waterford Township Civic Campus. Our 60-month mortgage on this property was paid off in just 21 months!

We have made more than $200,000 of improvements to this 60-year-old facility, including an all-new Fellowship Hall, new expanded parking lot, a gathering space, renovated ADA compliant restrooms and ADA ramp. All of these improvements have been made without incurring any debt. Redeemer Church remains debt-free.

Redeemer Church desires to be a people who live all of life to the glory of God. To that end, we are committed to the expository preaching of the Bible. Our Founding & Teaching Pastor, Paul Edwards, preaches verse-by-verse through the Bible, helping us to understand the meaning and apply it to our lives.

As part of our worship of God, we are committed to music that first and foremost helps us fulfill the Bible's command to "teach and admonish one another in psalms, and hymns, and spiritual songs." We sing a balance of new and old worship songs, with the primary emphasis on the words we are singing, as we exalt our Lord Jesus Christ through singing His praise.

We are committed to being a multigenerational church. Titus 2 pictures the church consisting of older men and younger men serving and learning together, older women and younger women serving and learning together.

We are committed to being a multiethnic church. Revelation 5 describes those redeemed by the Lamb's blood as coming "out of every kindred, and tongue (language), and people, and nation."

There is much more to our story, and we invite you to be a part of it as it continues to unfold to the glory of God. Be our guest on Sunday at 11:00  am and 6:00 pm. If we can serve you in any way, please reach out to us!
